Hanuman, the son of the wind god Vayu, also appears in the Mahabharata as the half-brother of Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers. During the Kurukshetra War, Hanuman manifested himself on the battle flag of Arjuna's chariot to protect and empower the Pandava army, ensuring their victory without fearing any enemy.
